Liu Fa-Part 9-Swapping Lei with Ham Diagram坎填離圖-蓮池心法

The above phrase has been around for more than 1,000 years and many versions of such interpretations have provoked disagreement or arguments. Even Yi Scholars and Dao Scholar have different views. One point that need to point out from such phrase without taking into consideration of the background of such text, is the logic behind the Kin Gua as the Golden Dragon, in the Early Days Bagua Yao transformation, every Gua that change to Kin Gua, notice the ‘changes of the Yao’ that will lead us to find the Golden Dragon Water mouth in later part.  Such changes are ‘Swapping Lei with Ham’. For instance Lei Gua inverted as Ham, in which 2 Yins Guas Changes of Yaos to become Yang Kin, and Ham inverted to be Lei with one Yin Gua changes of Yao as Yang Kin Gua.

Swap the Ham (solid) to Lei (empty) and dictate the Golden Dragon by principle of Changing Gua of Three Yins inverted to Three Yang”

The position of the water mouth treats the Golden Dragon as a pivotal point. With any changes in Golden Dragon, Kin and Kwan would have the say in the commanding period. Should Kin is the Mountain then Kwan is the commanding period, that lead to Dui and Shun as ‘Out of Periods’ Gua while Chan and Kan as ‘In the Period’.

Check the mountain of Early Days Bagua of Kin and see which 8 Palaces it belongs to. The changes in Yaos should refer to Dui and Shun as the. The lower Yao change should refer to lower Yao Changed Gua, the middle Yao change should refer to middle Yao Changed Gua and the upper Yao change should refer to upper Yao changed Gua. The current period should refer to Dui and Shun while the out of period should refer to Chan and Kan water mouths.

The notion that each water mouth should have 2 directions to deal with, ‘flow’ and ‘anti-flow’. Again, to reiterate that different periods will have different Guas.

The Golden Dragon water mouth Diagram is the changes or transformation of 9-palaces. As such to figure out the four major water mouth Guas of Dui/Shun/Chan/Kan, with in the Period of receive Dui and Shun while out of period to harness Chan and Kan Guas. For instance, we are currently in the lower cycle of period 8 (6789) is to receive the Dui and Kan Guas, while the upper period of 1234 is to harness the Chan and Kan Guas. This is the typical example of Yin and Yang intercourse.

Check the current mountain Heaven Gua as Kin-9, Dui-4, Lei-3, Chan-8, Shun-2, Ham-7, Kan-6 and Kwan-1. And observe the change of Kin (Golden Dragon), should the first Yao changes, the whole Gua would changed as well, should the second Yao changes so is the whole Gua, and so on. That will lead us to find out the four-water mouth Guas. The 24-moutains positions are based on the Later Days Bagua, after searching the 4 water mouth we then find out the direction of the water should the water from left to right it is termed as ‘flow’ and the Dui Gua is applicable, and should the water direction is other wise, the Shun Gua is applicable.
